The Falcons are definitely the bigger surprise because they have a rookie quarterback and they were in total disarray last year. The Bills almost finished at .500 and they had the most injured starters in the entire league last year. Most games, except for the New England games, the Bills could have won with one or two breaks. Now with Trent Edwards hurt, the Bills looked terrible.

Falcons.

At least a few people were talking about the Bills. Nobody thought Atlanta would win 4 games.

Atlanta. Most football fans that follow the league fairly closely recognize that the Bills actually had some talent coming into the season and the biggest concern was the QB position. They surely werent projected to do as well as they have but it cant honestly be a huge surprise. The Falcons on the other hand looked like a team in complete reverse, they clearly couldnt have expected to start the season with Matt Ryan winning the starting job, I suspect they planned on throwing him in the fire more along the lines of the last half dozen games. They lost more talent than they acquired, clearly they put a lot of faith in Turner but everyone must have thought of him as a wildcard at best. There were major concerns about the offensive line, a big reason they hadnt anticipated starting the season with Ryan and another reason to wonder how good Turner could be. They sent away their best CB and somehow the defense has responded with some solid outting and maybe the biggest factor is they did all this with a rookie head coach with very little experience. Both are great stories but the Falcons have already won as many games as most experts projected them to win all year….in fact on publication had them as the worst team in the NFL (cant remember which, I read too many of them).

Bills had a good team last year, but were riddled with injuries on defense and had a very green QB.

Falcons. They had two major issues to deal with from last season…the Michael Vick situation and the Bobby P. situation, both of which could have set them back 5 years. The Bills were on the verge last year were it not for a few injuries and an inexperienced QB (plus the strength of the AFC last year). In general, especially with the Brady injury and the AFC being wide open, I am more impressed by the Falcons turnaround this year.

Falcons they were suppose to be worse then the Rams. The Bills are highly overrated and are here before their time due to Brady being injured. I knew it was possible for them to get whooped by Warner and Edwards or no Edwards they got owned and are 3 years from being legit.

I cant say that either team really suprises me, something like this happens every year, thats just what the NFL is all about. I live in Macon, GA which is only about an hour from Atlanta, and I am a die hard fan, I go to all the home games and sometimes I go to the Carolina game in Carolina and its really sweet to me to be doing fair when in the offseason all I heard is how bad Atlanta was going to be and how they would win less then 4 games on the season. I think Atlanta has a long ways to go to be contenders, TB is looking dominant right now and Carolina dont look too bad either, the NFC South pretty much went from worst to first in the last few years. I look foward to Chicago this week, which in my opinion will be the toughest home game this year, the Bears are stacked on the line. To me the biggest suprise of the season is neither the Bills or the Falcons, but the Tennessee Titans who are 5-0 under Collins, who I hope get the start for the rest of the season. Good luck everybody on your teams this season.
